What is fundraising at Stepping Stones Montessori in East Lansing?
Fundraisers at Stepping Stones are an excellent opportunity to engage and build our community. All of our events give our children space to participate in direct experiences with real-world learning environments. Our fundraisers are chosen and designed to be consistent with our learning values, meant to enrich our community and stimulate the child’s independent exploration.
At the beginning of the school year, parents are introduced to the many volunteer options available to them, including our fundraising events. In the morning of first day of school (September 8), parents meet with the board of directors to learn more about how they can volunteer for the events. If you are a new parent or considering joining our community, this is an excellent opportunity to get to know us, and for us to get to know you. Take a look at the list of events we have below to see which events you may be interested in joining.
If you have any questions, please call our office at (517) 336-0422. We would be happy to talk to you about our fundraising!
Fundraising Opportunities and Events
The Family Spaghetti Dinner. This is an opportunity for parents and children to work and cook together, while we raise some money for the school. This is a cherished Stepping Stones tradition for the whole family to enjoy delicious home-made spaghetti sauce, child-prepared bread and place mats, home-made bake-sale items, and an annual performance of “On Top of Spaghetti.” The dinner is located at the Edgewood Church from 6-8pm on October 23. Mark your calendar!
Annual Friends of Montessori Auction. The Auction offers businesses a great marketing opportunity to get their products, services, and brands in front of the Stepping Stones Montessori in East Lansing community. Moreover, the Auction Friends attendees and members of our community are encouraged to patronize companies that support the Friends of Montessori Auction. It is the generosity and good will of both individuals and businesses that makes the Friends of Montessori Auction a success and allows Stepping Stones Montessori to maintain its commitment to and achievement of excellence in education.
We offer a wide range of products and services to our Auction bidders. The most exciting Auction items are opportunities that simply cannot be purchased off the shelf. Maybe it is a behind the scenes tour, a stay at an exclusive resort, or a chance to dine at the chef’s table of the hottest new restaurant. We seek support through the donation of items and services to offer a variety of items to our bidders at the Auction. This event takes place on May 14. More information is provided through the committee of the Friends of Montessori Auction.
Annual Giving Campaign. Donate Here Every day we bundle up our children, kiss them good-bye, and watch them hopscotch the colored tiles down the hallway and into class, knowing that they are in the best place for them right now. We thank you for your participation in our community. The Stepping Stones environment cannot thrive without your continuous involvement. We have a strong group of families, friends and alumni in our school and many ask, “What can I do?” At this time of year, we invite you to support Stepping Stones Montessori in East Lansing through our Annual Giving campaign. Why is fundraising so important to Stepping Stones Montessori in East Lansing?
Because we are a 501(c)(3) organization, the participation in fundraisers helps keep our school and community growing. Our fundraisers play a big part in the improvement of our children’s education by making it possible to obtain valuable ‘extras’ for our children. Proceeds from the Annual Friends of Montessori Auction generate critical funds for our operating budget, ensure the availability of scholarship and financial aid, keep tuition affordable and purchase the necessary Montessori materials for our children to grow. Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowable by law.
